AHK Europe Conference: Pathways to a Resilient Future
Our fruitful, long-time collaboration with the Polish-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Polska) results in Deininger Poland and CEE participating in a number of events for the Central and Eastern Europe region. Whether it’s a networking event, a lecture, a fundraiser, a conference or a discussion panel, we are proud to be present and displayed as their partner.
In October, our colleagues took part in the AHK Europe Conference and its opening evening in Warsaw. The purpose of this conference was to discuss the main topic: Europe- The Next Step: Embracing Digitalization, Decarbonization, and Diversification for a Resilient Future.

As Europe undergoes profound shifts, driven by both internal and external forces, the need for a new, sustainable economic strategy has become more pressing than ever. The AHK Europe Conference provided an invaluable platform to explore these issues. With over 150 high-profile representatives from politics, business, and academia, the event centered on how Europe can lead the way in digitalization, decarbonization, and diversification, the three pillars of its evolving economic strategy.
Central and Eastern European countries, with their rapidly developing digital sectors, were highlighted as critical players in this landscape, contributing a wealth of technical expertise and a dynamic approach to technological adoption. In particular, discussions explored the ways in which Central and Eastern Europe, led by a new generation of tech talent and entrepreneurial spirit, can serve as a digital engine for the broader EU. The emphasis was on supporting not just digital adoption but also digital education and innovation in industries ranging from manufacturing to finance, creating a foundation for Europe’s future competitiveness.
Europe’s ambitions for decarbonization are monumental, aiming to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. However, this transition is fraught with challenges. The need to reduce emissions while maintaining industrial productivity and jobs was a key topic, highlighting the delicate balance Europe must strike between environmental and economic objectives. The conference underscored the importance of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and green technologies, with an emphasis on how the shift to sustainable production models can create new jobs and economic growth opportunities across the EU.
Diversification, in the context of Europe’s economic strategy, is crucial not only in energy but also in trade and industry. The Ukraine war has had a significant impact on European dynamics, shifting power balances and reshaping alliances. This has prompted European leaders to prioritize diversification in supply chains, reduce dependence on single sources of critical materials, and explore new trade partnerships. In this light, Central and Eastern Europe is emerging as a vital player within the EU, with its economic rise reinforcing the region’s influence on the continent.
The conference highlighted that this region’s strategic location and industrial base make it an invaluable partner in building a resilient and diversified European economy. By developing stronger regional collaborations and investing in local production capacities, Europe can mitigate the risks posed by global supply chain disruptions and establish itself as a more self-sufficient entity on the world stage.
Europe’s journey comes with its own set of challenges, but these obstacles are also powerful opportunities for growth and reinvention. One of the core discussions during the conference was the balance between environmental protection and industrial competitiveness. The transition to greener practices is a vital step forward, but it requires substantial investment and policy support to ensure industries can remain competitive during and after the transition.
The AHK Europe Conference also highlighted how the internal dynamics of the EU are evolving. Central and Eastern Europe’s economic growth and political assertiveness are reshaping the traditional power structures within the EU, as countries in this region push for a stronger voice in decision-making processes. This shift reflects a more balanced Europe, where each member state contributes to the EU’s vision, strengths, and adaptability in the face of new challenges.

As participants, we are grateful to the AHK and the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad for organizing such a forward-thinking event. The conference not only provided a platform for exploring vital economic strategies but also fostered meaningful connections and discussions across industries.
In closing, Europe stands on the cusp of transformative change. With digitalization, decarbonization, and diversification as its guiding principles, the continent is poised to take the next steps toward a future that balances environmental stewardship, industrial innovation, and resilience. The discussions and solutions developed at the AHK Europe Conference are a testament to Europe’s resolve, creativity, and ambition - qualities that will undoubtedly shape the continent’s path forward in the years to come.
